FYI, this story is more than a year old

The organisation that administers the country’s internet domain names has appointed a new Chief Executive - however he won’t oversee the entire multi-million dollar organisation. The new CEO is Vikram Kumar, a former manager at the State Services Commission and Telecom. In his new role he will be responsible for one part of the organisation; that is managing the policy unit and the shared services unit. There are two other parts to InternetNZ – the Domain Name Commission and the .nz registry. Each has its own governing council. In its entirety InternetNZ receives around $6.5 million annually from the fees New Zealanders pay to register and retain the .nz domain name. Kumar takes over the role from acting CEO Richard Currey, who had been in the role since April 2009.
